I am really sorry that I have to go through all the trouble of writing a journal entry just to let people know about these sad things.

This user:

:iconsparklytigerrawr:

SparklyTigerRawr

Created an account and has taken images from several people I am yet to identify (sorry guys) adds a "one click" filter and claims as their own. This is probably a child, judging by the language used and naivety demonstrated when it comes to DA's rules, so go easy on her.

All you have to do is click on "report deviation" and let DA know about any infractions you see fit. I have reported my own work there.

Again, please do not insult the person, be nice, if you have anything to say let it be warnings and useful advice! ;)

The way that person comments is an immature brat/troll that deserves to be slapped. I'll happily report if they continue to steal. Eventually though it looks like their account will be frozen

This girl is ridiculous! "I didn't steal it, I got it from Google". Is anyone seriously this dumb? :disbelief: Thanks for drawing our attention to this.

I'm not going to bother reporting her, since people already are, but it looks like she's just going to end up banned. It's too bad she doesn't understand what other people are telling her, she could have some potential for photo edits.

I tried my best to find all the original artists names. But I couldn't find the original photograph of the snow leopard.

Doesn't seem like she knows what she's doing. She does comment on all of them that she doesn't own the photos, only the edited pics. So I'm going to agree with you when you say that she doesn't seem to be stealing on purpose.

Sent her a note explaining to her how Google pulls up images. Hopefully she will understand and remove the images on her own initiative. Judging by how she talks and her reasoning, you are right, she is either very young or very naive (or both) and doesn't quite understand how the Internet works. I did warn her though that if the images don't come down I will have to report what she's uploaded, and I would hate to do that but hopefully she will understand. Thank you for treating her kindly and with the respect that she deserves!

In the comments section of one of their "artworks" they claimed that their old account was hacked and banned, so they lost all their watchers.  I highly doubt it was hacked.  I'd say they've done all this before.

I too have reported it. The sad thing is that this person doesn't really seem to understand what it is they are doing wrong. Her two examples of "proof" that she edited them simply shows that she has no clue.

i admire your restraint and kindness towards the thief ! we get nowhere being assholes to them they just reappear and start again so when people confront them in a decent way after they've been caught doing something wrong hopefully it shows them They don't have to be an asshole and steal others work ;) also ... what is a 'one click' filter ?

"what is a 'one click' filter ?"

basically when only a single edit was made to the picture (or very few edits to the point where not much was done to change the picture).

Well, I'm glad that a bit of kindness was taken into consideration. Like you said, they are probably some young kid trying to make it. I remember being like that (though not stealing and re-posting art I swear on whatever religious testament you want me to) and just being so naive. But I decided to read some of the comments the sheer bullheadedness is what ticked me off and decided to write a very stern report. It's one thing to make a few mistakes but then correct them but it's another to keep making them even after people KEEP telling you that you are breaking the rules.

No offense, but I don't really care if she's young. She needs to understand that you can't steal other peoples' works. "I got it from Google so it's not stealing". Google is a SEARCH engine :pissedoff: . It takes you TO things, it's not a free store that you go to to take things from. Editing =/= your own work. It's one thing to take say, a piece of clip art and put it into a brochure you made in Photoshop, it's another thing to take a photograph belonging to someone else and adjusting saturation/hue or filters or color balance or whatever and say you did it.

It's just not ART. Even people who fiddle and "edit" have some piece of it that is their own original work or idea :/

Thanks for the heads. I'm really appreciative of the fact you asked people to go nice on them since they likely don't realize the gravity of what they are doing. Kudos to you :) I agree what they are doing is wrong, but I don't think they have malicious intent, just very very misguided....

So true. It's sad really, I'm sure she is taking at a personal attack, when people are actually going out of their way to be nice, Inform her of her error, and help her stop before she gets into legal trouble!  I just don't understand where she thinks the Google images come from originally ?

kids..

Well.. I love devart's openness as I don't particularly like sites of invite only or approval-needed accounts

But sometimes I do understand why some sites take the grace of requiring a harder control and regulation over every new account or even submitting 3 of the firsts person's pieces for inspection before they all get allowed into the site's base..

There are so many youngsters around innocently (sometimes, sometimes not so much) plagiarizing people's artworks and then being (of course) all defensive and ignorant when confronted..  *sigh*

Thanks for emphasizing that people should go easy ... The user states that the artworks belong to someone else and only effects were added. He/she told me of how hard it was to get the effect in, and without defending or justifying art theft - I can kind of relate. A young artist who is pround of the things accomplished and wants to share these. But of course - at the latest at the uploading it has to stop. Don't share what is not yours... :(
I honestly hope the person will take the lesson in humbly, and use dA stock in the future - with the proper referencing :)

Tem piada este comentário que ela escreveu I didn't steal those 2 pictures from anyone. I got it from Google. As you can see, I didn't steal from them. They got from Google too. Hope that clears things up. Ela é assim tão burra?

I'd like to add another to this list. Just two days ago I came across a very popular black dragon picture in a group. Going to the page, :icondark-sacred: claims it is his own, even though the original artist was previously found. From the looks of their gallery, they've stolen many other things as well.
